Ib is a nine year old girl, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Even with everything she went through in the world inside the painting she's still just a typical young girl who got pulled into things she shouldn't have.

The only stand out thing one should know about that isn't typical young girl involves the bright red, five petaled, rose that she will always constantly be carrying with her. In canon Ib's life is measured by said flower and in actual canon context if anything harms said rose it will actually cause wounds and actual pain to her, even going so far as to cause her death if all of the petals on her rose were to wilt or be ripped off. The only way to heal such in canon is to place said rose in clear water. This won't reverse death, but it can bring her back from the brink of death, so long as one petal remains alive on her flower.

This means that Ib is going to be very protective of said rose and it will take a lot of trust for her to let anyone else touch it, let alone hold it.

Due to the magical nature of said rose, those that are sensitive to such can tell it is magical and even how it connects to her.

A young girl loved and sheltered by loving parents in a well to do part of town. One day the young girl and her parents go to an art museum. To see a special about a man called Guertena who created many fantastical pieces of art. The day turns out not to be just a day out as the young girl finds herself all alone within the museum. Then something tells her to go down and before her is one of the paintings that isn't on a wall but on the floor, of a deep dark ocean with something swimming in the shadows. Jumping in, instead of landing on paint the young girl is suddenly in a place that is and isn't like the museum.

Paintings that move, and many things trying to hurt her, and through it all is a red, red rose that hurts when she is hurt and is hurts her when it is hurt. She is still all alone.

Then there is the man who has a blue, so blue rose that the little girl had to save from a woman in a painting that was hurting it. Then she's not all alone as she and the man that she feels safe with look and solve and run away from so many things within the museum. The man makes her feel safe, and being not so alone the little girl is even more curious of the place they are in. Especially, as the man promises her that she will go home and see her parents once again, and the little girl trusts him completely.

Then a girl with hair as yellow as the rose in her hand appears and two is now three.

The three search and wander, all vowing to get out together, but something is off with the girl of yellow. Something that is ignored along with the odd questions the girl of yellow asks the young girl. Then the man is separated from the two girls and the two girls wander one way while he wonders another. Stumbling and figuring out tricks and puzzles that help one another towards meeting up again.

However, along the way the man finds a book that talks about the many paintings that the man whose art created this world had made. One painting was that of a girl a girl of yellow hair. Finding this out the man talks to himself in shock of this realization that one of the girls he had been protecting may not even be real. Never realizing one of the paintings in the room is listening ever so carefully to what he is saying and another is telling the secret he has found where the girl in yellow can hear.

The girl in yellow does not take this well and when the young girl tries to leave after the girl in yellow runs away...well, the girl in yellow takes this as a sign that the young girl is going to leave her behind and decides to try and stop the young girl from running away. Even if the young girl has to die, that's okay the girl of yellow thinks. Since that means the young girl can never leave her alone again. The young girl tries to flee but the girl of yellow does not stop, until the man appears and sends the girl of yellow to the ground.

The trio once more a duo flee away from the painting girl, going farther and farther into this world of paint and sculptors until it becomes a world of crayon. There the two look and hide as the painting girls chases them once again to stop them from leaving without her. Finally when the two are trapped by a dark and deep fall the painting girl finds them and throws them down into the dark of her toy box.

The two do not let this stop them as they find one another find a way out of the dark and dangerous box, coming across a staircase covered in yellow rose vines the man uses his lighter to see if this is the way that will lead them home. Instead the two find a room almost like a little girl's room, only instead of a bed is a broken portrait frame as if what was once held inside had broken free. The painting girl soon arrives and becomes angry for they have found her room and she does not want them to stay.

Seeing no other way, and hoping to keep the young girl safe the man sets alight the broken portrait and so too the painting girl goes up in flames.

Such a sad end for a painted child that wanted to be real, but the little girl and the man still must find their way out. So with a tying of a handkerchief from the little girl on a man's cut hand the two prepare to once more begin the search to find a way home...

Following the lessons of Mother and Father, she is a sheltered girl; naive of many things wrong with the world and a little lonely protected away from such things. She is a brave girl who walks through a cruel painted maze without ever once complaining, and always going forward; fearless in good and bad ways as she braves the painted world and all the tricks it has to offer.

She is a clever girl as she solves puzzles and riddles to find a way out, and kind...oh so kind. Making fast and strong of a friendship with the man called Garry who repays her kind attention by protecting her as much as he can. Which makes her love him even more, in the way only children can, purely and freely.

She is a little girl, she becomes sad and frighten and can't hide such all the time. She wants to go home and see all the familiar things again.

Because, if that last petal falls the flower dies, and with it the heart of a little girl it represents. Healing with water, but leaving wounds when petals fall. A blessing or a curse, or perhaps both. Either way Ib's life is connected to the life of a flower. Keep it safe is the only hope.

Ib has a bit of a breakdown.

-* Ib, tired and starting to feel the strain of all this running, faints after another mad dash to safety. Where Garry then scoops her up and dashes to another room to hide in and using his jacket to keep Ib warm.

-* Waking up Garry promises Ib they'll make it out and offers her a piece of candy that he has.

-* The two continue on and run into another young girl by the name of Mary.

-* The three find a room that for some reason freaks Garry out, though to Ib the room just looks like it's filled with stuffed bunny toys along with a painting of a large bunny with red eyes. (It's not a room full of cute bunny dolls)

-* The group leave and soon Garry is separated from Ib and Mary. The two girls, by Mary's urging keep going in hopes of finding a way to meet up with Garry again.

-* After a time of waiting Garry also backtracks in hopes of finding a way to the girls. Through several puzzles and actions taken by both parties they open a way back to one another. However, not before Garry stumbles upon a book detailing the different paintings made by Guertena. One of them is titled "Mary" and the picture is of a painting that looks exactly like Mary. Garry mentions this out loud in shock and a painting of a ear listens in, while a painting of a mouth near Mary tells her what Garry found out.

-* Mary in a fit of emotion leaves Ib, who continues on to finding Garry, only for Mary to catch up and start brandishing a painter's pallet knife. Her desperation to leave the Fabricated World making her even willing to kill Ib, despite wanting to be Ib's friend prior to all of this. She's stopped by Garry rushing forward and pushing her away from Ib.

-* Ib and Garry flee and find themselves in a place called the sketchbook in their hunt to find a way home. All while dodging Mary who is still hunting them.

-* The search leads them to a 'toy box' with a bottom neither can see, and while discussing how to find the key within it, Mary arrives and pushes both of them in.

-*After waking up from the fall, and Ib finding her flower with only one petal left on it, the two flee more enemies and come across a staircase covered by crayon made vines and yellow roses.

-*Garry burns the vines with his lighter and the two enter a room where a picture that looks like something came out of it is on the back wall.

-*Mary catches up with them and has a meltdown over them finding the room. (As the painting is her painting and thus her secret room) and demands them to get out, while still brandishing her weapon.

-* The pair decide the best way to stop Mary is to burn her portrait which causes Mary to turn into a pile of ashes.

-*The heat from the fire had also caused the glass that was part of the painting to shatter outward, injuring Garry's hand. Ib uses her handkerchief as a bandage and the two once more set out to find a way home.
❥ CRAU?: N/A

❥ Personality:
First and foremost, Ib is a silent protagonist in an rpgmaker game with player chosen responses to certain things, like who you would gain affection with via answers, or help or hinder a doom counter by your action or inaction at key plot points. This means a lot of things have to be inferred since Ib is left as a bit of a blank slate in a lot of ways due to this.

For the most part Ib is what you would expect of a young girl who lived a slightly sheltered life. (It's inferred by the way her parents dress, the fact her handkerchief is lace and embroidered, thus expensive, it is also a well to do life) Happy, and doted on, but also raised to be polite and courteous to the adults around her. She's even responsible for her age since her mother allows her to roam an art gallery by herself without any hesitation that she'll act out or be rambunctious. A lot of her interactions with Garry (especially when following the path to the Promise of Reunion ending) also show that Ib is sweet and helpful. Kind and loving in a way only a child can be. Freely and unconditionally. This isn't to say she's demure or fragile. In fact, with how a lot of events in canon play out you could say that Ib is a bit too fearless and naive regarding the world, considering how very little seems to phase her as things progress.

I like to joke that she's basically YOLO in child form because some of the puzzle answers in this game could only ever be done by someone that just /shrugs and leaps for it. But, in all seriousness, Ib does have a bit of a blind spot in regards to danger, especially if it is danger that has to be puzzled or forced through to get to the end of the problem. She also won't hesitate if anyone, even in jest, suggests she does something. Like crawl into a small dark hole of dubious origin or stick her hand into a dark maw that may or may not bite her. This trait only gets worse if she's trying to help someone she feels attached to and trusts.

However, she's not stoic or completely immune to the horrors of the Fabricated World. As seen when seeing a picture of her parents in this place Ib starts to break down, going so far as to faint because every scary thing has finally caught up to her. This fainting even leading to her suffering a nightmare that revolves around her fleeing through endless doors from the various enemies in the game. Another example of the fact that she really is afraid of the things happening to her is her fleeing in fright from Mary and then hugging Garry in pure relief when he saves her. There is even hints in the game that Ib may be affected by everything going on more then is being realized as well. As one of the books you can randomly read talks about how a mind under stress will begin to hallucinate, and in one of the rooms, Ib sees the room filled with cute bunny dolls while the rest of the party see it for what it is. That of a dark room full of creepy blue dolls. A worrying thought in just how much Ib may not be taking well to her prolong stay in the Fabricated World. She may not break down and cry every time something scares her, or she feels alone, but in time she will break. Especially when she can't pretend everything is alright and that she's fine with once again being separated from everyone that is precious to her.

❥ Abilities:
The Red Rose with Five Petals: Ib's life and state of health is tied to that of the red rose she carries with her. If she is injured to a certain point a petal will fall away from the rose, like wise if someone or something were to rip a petal or petals out she will gain pain and injuries that correspond with how many petals are gone. If all petals fall away from the rose then her life will end as well. The theory on why her rose has five petals and Garry's has ten is due to age. Garry is said to be an adult in age while Ib is only 9/10. Thus he's physically stronger then her, so more flower petals.

The only known ways to reverse the damage of both the rose and Ib is to either place the rose in a container of clear and clean water. The water will be instantly absorbed and the lost petals will return, along with Ib's health. Healing Ib traditionally or magically can also fix the rose, though these ways are not as instant as watering the flower.

There is no reversing the effects if the rose loses all of its petals, even with magic.

The rose is like any flower and thus fragile, and can easily lose petals if one is too rough with it.

❥ Extras: Inventory: Red Rose, and one wrapped lemon candy.
God Alignment: Ainea because when you get right down to it the story of Ib is moved by her kindness to Garry and Garry's kindness to her.

Also, I freely give permission for the mods to use her weird symbiosis with her rose for any event or plot. Because I find such thing fun.

SAMPLE
TDM Link 1

TDM Top level

comments
